This week 2 – 8 Nov
Patch 0.6.0: a warmer welcome, fairer first fights and end bosses with a second phase
This patch is about your first minutes. The Fight button is always in view, your next step is one short line, and only one thing glows at a time. On levels 1 and 2, Rest (free) is the big button when you are low after a win, and no monster shrugs off your only attack. The last boss of every dungeon now has a second phase at half HP: Brace in time or break its shield for an Opening.
Week 4 26 Oct – 1 NovPatch 0.5.3 · Patch 0.5.2 · Patch 0.5.1
Patch 0.5.3: 16 new backgrounds, visible offhand and living dungeon cards
The realm lights up. Every zone, the Tower and the World Boss got a new fight background in the same pixel style as your heroes, with flickering firelight and rising embers. Every page in the game now sits in the scene of your zone, and the offhand you wear is visible on your hero. Dungeon cards show the dungeon, your hero and the final boss. On short laptop screens the combat log fits above the action bar. You can turn the light effects off in Settings.
Patch 0.5.2: every monster redrawn, and a first look at the Fireband
Every monster now shares the pixel style of your heroes and faces you everywhere. The music plays at one volume, the World Boss has its own track, and a Legendary drop plays a jingle. New heroes get gentler first fights, a Turn in card after a fight and "Use our pick" for skill points. From level 5, the new Band tab gives a first look at the Fireband.
Patch 0.5.1: small fixes from your screenshots
Switching heroes is easy to find again, Hero sits at the far right of the bottom bar, and your hero fits the Hero screen on every phone and PC. The Ember Tally no longer resets your talents: if yours were reset, your points are back, so spend them again.
Week 3 19 – 25 OctPatch 0.5 "Ashglow", part 1 · New monsters in Kindlepine Woods · Patch 0.4 "Emberlight" · Patch 0.3.6
Patch 0.5 "Ashglow", part 1: your heroes got a glow-up
Every hero is redrawn in new colours: same small heroes, cleaner look. Weapons are smaller and sit in your hand, with their own look for Epic and Legendary. Pets and summons are redrawn too and stand next to you, not on top of you. More of Ashglow follows soon.
New monsters in Kindlepine Woods
Two new monsters live in the pine woods: the Sapshell Beetle hides under a shell of hard resin, and every hit on a Smoulderquill burns you a little. From level 3, watch for Ashantler, the Ember-Grazer: a rare stag with burning antlers and its own Wanted quest. The Ashpelt Wolf, Galebeak Roc and Sparkhide Ram got new pixel art too, and more monsters will follow.
Patch 0.4 "Emberlight": the whole realm versus one boss
From level 30 every hero fights the same World Boss, 3 fights a day, and all your blows fill one bar. It holds its ground until Thursday evening, so the whole realm gets its chance. When it falls, the whole realm gets Emberlight: +10% XP and gold until the week ends.
Patch 0.3.6: A clearer first fight
The guide was a wall of text. Now the fight, skills and gear pages are short cards with pictures, and Instinct and the Hunting streak get a one-line tip the first time you meet them. The full details are still in the guide (Settings), under More details. At level 60 the Ember Level bar now also shows during a fight. A player reached out and told us it was too much at once: thank you! And the scouts still watch the ridge: one boss the whole realm fights together is coming in the next big patch (level 30+).
Week 2 12 – 18 Oct100 heroes joined the realm · Patch 0.3 "Flicker" is live
100 heroes joined the realm: guests now play to level 60
Thank you, every one of you. To celebrate, guest heroes can now play all the way to level 60: every zone, every dungeon and the Endless Tower, no account needed. You still have up to 2 guest heroes (the second opens at level 20). A guest hero lives only in your browser, so make a backup file in Settings: the game reminds you at level 30, 40 and 50. When 100 players have signed up, accounts open and your hero moves with you.
Patch 0.3 "Flicker" is live
Fights have more weight now: monsters take longer and hit harder, elites and bosses are a real fight. Gear is special again (Epic from level 20, Legendary from 40, Mythic only at 60), the new reroll changes one bonus line at a time, Scorched zones open per zone, and the first hero to reach 60 gets the title First Flame.
You asked, we built: Many of you said monsters died too fast, even with Instinct. Fixed: longer, smarter fights for every class.
Week 1 · Launch week 5 – 11 OctLevel 60 now takes about 25-30 hours · Follow Realm of Embers on Instagram and TikTok · Login opens at 100 sign-ups · A new class is coming · Play on another device
Level 60 now takes about 25-30 hours
Level 60 should mean something. From level 20 on, every level asks for a bit more XP, so reaching 60 now takes about 25-30 hours of play instead of a weekend. Levels 1-19 stay quick, quests give more XP to match, and the bonus you get after a break now builds up for longer, so playing a little every day keeps you close. Your hero keeps its level and its XP bar.
Guests who reach level 30 now see what waits beyond: the next zones, Legendary and Mythic gear, the Endless Tower and Ember Levels. The XP you keep earning is saved for when the login opens.
Many names changed too, so they feel like ours: Pine Forest is now Kindlepine Woods, wolves are Ashpelt Wolves, and some skills, sets and bosses got new names. Your items and quest progress move along by themselves.
Follow Realm of Embers on Instagram and TikTok
Realm of Embers now has its own Instagram and TikTok: short gameplay clips, boss mechanics, rare drops and news about every update. Follow @realmofembers to see it first.
Login opens at 100 sign-ups
With a login you play the whole game with up to 4 heroes, saved online, and you join the leaderboard. Sign up in the game now with Discord or email: the button shows how many players have signed up. When 100 players have signed up, the login opens for everyone by itself. Until then you play as a guest up to level 30, and your guest hero comes with you.
A new class is coming: you choose which one
Realm of Embers gets a 7th class. Which one? You decide. Go to #announcements in our Discord and vote with a reaction:
Necromancer or
Druid. The class with the most votes is the one we build first.

Raises undead minions, drains life and curses enemies with shadow magic.

Shapeshifts into beasts, heals with nature and tangles foes in roots.
Like every class, the new one gets 3 specs, each a tank, damage or healer style. The specs are revealed later.
Play on another device
Take your hero to your phone or PC: open
Settings →
Play on another device, make a code and scan the QR code on your other device. The code works once, for 15 minutes. Also new: the save icon at the top shows that your game is saved, and you can download a backup file.
