Realm of Embers is a small independent game, made in the Netherlands. Questions? Email [email protected] or ask in our Discord.

Realm of Embers is free to play, with no ads. It is in beta: we keep improving it, so classes, balance, items and events can change. Leaderboards and races can start again, and we may reset things if a bug made them unfair. We work hard to keep your heroes safe, but we cannot promise the game is always online or free of bugs.

A guest hero lives only in your browser. If you clear your browser data or play in a private window, it is gone and we cannot bring it back. Keep a copy with Settings → Download a backup file.

Accounts are for players aged 13 or older. If you are under 16, ask a parent or guardian first. One account per person. Keep your login to yourself: you are responsible for what happens with it.

Play fair, so the boards mean something for everyone. Not allowed: cheating, editing your save or the game, bots or scripts that play for you, using bugs on purpose, and making extra heroes or accounts just to push the boards. Found a bug? Tell us in the Discord and you help everyone.

If we see cheating, we can remove heroes from the leaderboards, reset scores, or close an account. For something small we warn you first.

Hero names are shown to other players. No hateful, rude or sexual names, no pretending to be someone else, and no personal details such as real names, phone numbers or addresses. We can rename a hero or take it off a board. In our Discord the Discord rules and our server rules apply.

Realm of Embers is never pay-to-win. You can support it on Ko-fi or Patreon, but that is a gift: it never gives power in the game. Ko-fi and Patreon handle the payment under their own terms, and a refund goes through them. Today we sell nothing inside the game. If that ever changes, the rules for it (including refunds) will be on this page first.

Realm of Embers is protected by copyright: the game, its code, its own art and music, its story and its name (© 2026 Realm of Embers, all rights reserved). You may stream it and make videos about it, monetized too, and share screenshots and fan art. Please don't copy, re-upload or sell the game, its art, music or code, and don't present it as your own. Some art comes from artists who shared it freely (CC0); they are named in the credits. Seen a copy of Realm of Embers somewhere? Tell us at [email protected].

We offer the game as it is. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for lost progress or other damage from bugs, downtime or lost browser data. Nothing on this page takes away your rights under Dutch or European consumer law.

We may update these terms. The date below shows the latest version, and big changes are announced in the Announcements and the Discord. Dutch law applies. How we handle your data is in our Privacy page.
